Bottle Caps, Fallout Style
For as long as I’ve played video games, I can recall playing Fallout. Whether it was 3, New Vegas, 1, 2, or 4, I have always been captivated by the post apocalyptic world, set to the music of the 50’s and the technologies of the future.
The currency in their dystopian society is the ubiquitous bottle cap. Why? No idea. They are handy, tactile, and make a fantastic jingle jangle noise when you shake a bag full of them.
I printed these on vinyl using a heat transfer foil, die-cut them to shape, and stuck each decal to the top of each bottle cap. I was stoked to find pre-distressed bottle caps to use for this project; I had tried to distress my own previously and that had led to mixed results.
The best part about these caps was when I would wear my Vault Dweller cosplay, I would give these caps out at conventions to other Fallout fans. Eventually I made a Monopoly board and used these caps to make magnets. A fun project all around!
