The Can-dolier

Around 2016, I tore down my old tired garage (standalone) and built up a new, taller, more modern garage in its place. The process was a true learning experience; it is likely there were better ways to do alot of it, but at the least it is not going to fall down anytime soon.

Around 2020 during the pandemic, I found enough time to pursue an addition to the main garage to add not only a carport awning but an addition to accommodate my surplus of tools and material. After a few weeks of concrete and even more learning about building a structure, I had a completed addition to house my Router and bandsaw along with my stock.

It worked out pretty well that I had some glass to use for the west windows, some maple/cherry/oak hardwood floor for my wall treatment, and the foresight to run 220v power out to accommodate my welder and table saw. While it isn’t perfect (in particular my windows not sluffing water properly) the structure is sound and now I do most of my work from it.

I have some photos included below that show Part 2 of Warhawks Workshop, the part that is in my basement. It was real rewarding to finally finish my basement after 20 years of living in this space! Every day that I am able to go downstairs and build my dreams is fantastic. Its doubly fantastic that this space is now dust-free and actually usable.
